Rockets Striking Civilian Areas
Since Saturday, October 7th, 2023, Hamas and other terrorist groups from Gaza have fired over 19,000 rockets and missiles into Israel, hitting neighborhoods, hospitals, playgrounds, and other heavily populated civilian areas across the country.
On October 7th more than 3,000 rockets were shot at Israeli towns and cities as a distraction for the mass infiltration from the Gaza Strip. Many of the Nova partygoers and other civilians in the Gaza envelope gathered in public bomb shelters and were murdered by Hamas terrorists in these shelters.
Although Israel’s Iron Dome system intercepts many of the rockets, civilians and especially children are under constant threat and terror, especially those civilians who live, work, and study in areas near Gaza where they do not have nearby shelters and only a few seconds to find shelter before the missile lands. The Israeli civilians in Gaza envelope have 15 seconds or less to seek shelter once the missile alert sets off, while residents in the city of Ashkelon have 30 seconds and civilians in Tel Aviv have 90 seconds to find shelter from the rockets from Gaza.
